Society of St Vincent De Paul (SSVP)

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is part of the global Vincentian family, an international Catholic lay organisation dedicated to following Christ through service to those in need and in so doing bear witness to His compassionate and liberating love.

SSVP – CTK Conference serves our Friends-in–need (FINs) who are living within the Ang Mo Kio boundary of the parish. We serve the poor and marginalised, regardless of their race, religion and nationality. Many of our FINs are lonely, elderly, sick and/or physically challenged, most of whom stay in one-room rental flats. We befriend and journey with them, and visit them regularly, supporting them by providing monthly rations, financial aid and education subsidies for school-going children. We also organise annual outings and a Christmas party for them.

The Conference also works to deepen our own members’ faith through intimate knowledge of the Bible and the life of our founder – Blessed Frederic Ozanam – as well as our Patron Saint, St Vincent de Paul, as we look to inspire our members to serve with hope, love and compassion – guided by the Holy Spirit – as a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

Our Monthly ration day is every 1st Saturday of the month at the Church of Christ The King’s multi-purpose hall (9.30am to 1pm). We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 8pm in Room 109.
