Biblical Apostolate Team

Know the Word, Love the Word, Live the Word

"Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ"

St Jerome

The Biblical Apostolate Team is the Ministry dedicated to the on-going faith formation of adults by promoting the study of the Word of God - The Bible as the source book of our knowledge of God, truth and authoritative Divine revelation and everlasting life. Faith in God comes from reading, hearing, doing and the studying of the Word of God. The BIBLE IS the Word of God. and must be read by all who believe in Jesus.

The Ministry organizes talks given by priests/appointed laypersons of the church. We also use commercial off the shelf Catholic Bible Study kits (Jeff Cavins, Little Rock). In addition, we believe in using a variety of different teaching strategies to enable the Word to be absorbed more effectively.

Bible Study on the Gospel of Mark

Bible Study on Zoom

July to October 2024
Conducted by: Fr Eugene Vaz

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

2 Timothy 3:16

We organize short Bible study sessions (5-7 weeks) in the 2nd quarter of the year (April-May). Longer Bible classes are held in the late half of the year (between late July – Sep).

The topics we have covered are:

• Introduction to the Bible

• Quick Introduction to Salvation History

• Gospels (John, Matthew, Mark)

• St Paul’s Letters (James, Corinthians)

• Wisdom Books (Psalms)

• Prophetic Books (Daniel)

• Acts of The Apostles

• Revelations

BAT also celebrates SUNDAY OF THE WORD OF GOD (SOTWOG) each year in accordance to the theme as given by the Church. In conjunction with SOTWOG, a Bible Quiz is organized for parishioners to take part with prizes to be won. BAT members also assist in selling Bible Study-related learning resources --Bibles, books and study/reference materials.

Studying Scripture in a group leads to the growth of the church body as a whole. God's Word is living and it's powerful, and we study it with other believers, it unifies and strengthens relationships as every person in the group leans in and discovers His truth together.
